YOUNG Dudley and Stourbridge Harriers runners headed to Himley Hall for the Dudley Schools Cross Country Championships last Saturday.

Luke Bailey put on a fantastic sprint at the end in a bid for the top spot but narrowly missed out and claimed a well-deserved second place finish.

Cian Wood and Rhys Lees both put in strong performances and finished in ninth and 10th.

All three boys qualified to represent Dudley in the West Midlands trials.

Last Sunday saw a battle of the Bodins take place at Windsor Half Marathon. Father and son Darrell and Adam Bodin raced around the 13.1 mile course, the youngest of the two took the victory in his first half marathon.

With a field of over 3000 runners, Adam finished in 43rd place in a time of 01.24.25, with Darrell finishing in 72nd place in a time of 01.27.00.
