TIVIDALE continued their tremendous run of form with a 4-0 win at Wem Town to remain 13 points clear on top of the West Midlands League Premier Division.

Full-back Brad Welding got the ball rolling with the opening goal after 27 minutes before Demetri Brown bagged a second just two minutes later.

Lowly Wem put up a fight before Lee Smith headed home a Reece Shilvock free kick on 79 minutes before substitute Elliot Hartley hit home a fourth goal from the penalty spot after he was brought down by Matt Hodgson.

Tivvy spokesman Leon Murray admitted: "Wem were better than we thought but our superior fitness told in the last 20 minutes."

Tivvy were due to face Southern League side Sutton Coldfield Town at Packwood Road on Wednesday in the Walsall Senior Cup before entertaining Wednesfield this Saturday.

DISMAYED Dudley Sports boss Tony Gore accused his players of lacking desire after suffering a heavy 6-1 defeat at Wednesfield.

Gore said: "We looked alright for the first 20 minutes but as soon as Wednesfield's first goal went in we began to capitulate.

"Admittedly their first goal shouldn't have counted because it came from a corner but the ball never went out of play in the first place.

"I had a few choice words with the players afterwards but there's no getting away from the fact that things have to change."

Substitute Richard Nicholson netted a consolation for Sports who slip to 17th spot.

They bid to battle back this week when they entertain AFC Bridgnorth at Hillcrest Avenue.

DUDLEY Town stay just above Sports in 15th place following a 2-1 defeat at home to Hereford Lads Club.

Chris Rabone clawed a goal back for the Robins after going 2-0 down which had the Hereford side holding on at the end.

Dudley Town boss Dean Whitehouse brought in experienced central defender Paul Henley who is also on duel registration with Alvechurch while Worcester City's promising young striker Cameron Walker was added to boost the attack.

Spokesman Dave Ferrier said: "We brought in a couple of fresh faces but it proved to no avail. We need to bounce back because it's important we don't get dragged into the relegation zone."

Dudley Town face a tough test this Saturday when they travel to high-flying Wolves Casuals.

Cradley Town climbed up to 14th place after pulling off a 4-1 win at rock bottom Pershore Town.

Goals from Dante Taylor and playmaker Kieran Day put Cradley in command before Pershore prised a goal back when Sam Clark set up Ryan Pugh to score.

Pershore pressed hard for a spell in the second half before Cradley finally steadied the ship when going 3-1 in front through a second goal from Dante Taylor before substitute Jamie Tomlinson added a fourth on his debut.

Cradley look to continue their progress this Saturday when they host Shifnal Town.
