TABLE toppers Tividale suffered only their third league defeat of the season when beaten 3-1 at Bewdley Town.

Playing on a rain sodden Ribbesford Meadow, it looked like business as usual when Tivi took a seventh minute lead through prolific marksman Demetri Brown who blasted home with a well angled drive.

But Bewdley battled back to level from the penalty spot when Ollie Mulders netted at the second attempt after goalkeeper Ryan Cheshire had saved his initial shot.

Bewdley then rocked Tivi by taking the lead on 41 minutes when Tom Smith released Callum Martin, whose cross somehow deceived Cheshire as it dropped into the net.

Tivi fell further behind on 45 minutes when Smith supplied a cross which Bewdley striker Luke Sidaway headed into the path of Martin, who made no mistake when he fired home from the edge of the box.

Bewdley then withstood everything that Tivi could throw at them in the second half with some stoic defending to seal the points.

Second placed Black Country Rangers were unable to take advantage of Tivi's slip-up as their local derby clash with Cradley Town was called off owing to the bad weather.

It means Shrewsbury side Haughmond have leapfrogged ahead of them following their 3-0 win over AFC Bridgnorth but remain 12 points adrift of Tivi but have the luxury of three games in hand.

Wolves Casuals have also clambered above Black Country to take third place following a 3-1 win over Wem Town.

Dudley Town did their prospects a power of good when they plundered a 6-2 success over next-to bottom side Pershore Town.

Playing on Sporting Khalsa's 4G pitch clearly suit the Robins as they raced into a 4-0 lead thanks to a couple of goals apiece from Owen Massey and Emils Fedotvos.

Further strikes from Sam Hall and Jordan Davies sealed an emphatic victory to take the Robins well clear of the drop zone.

Dudley Town can improve their position even further this coming Saturday as they travel to rock bottom Pegasus Juniors.

Leaders Tividale host Smethwick Rangers at Packwood Road while Black Country Rangers entertain Bilston Town Community at Gornal Athletic's Garden Walk ground.

Dudley Sports host Bewdley Town hoping for better luck with the weather after their proposed trip to Bilston Town was called off.

Cradley Town look to continue their climb up the table when they travel to AFC Bridgnorth's Crown Meadow.
