TOP of the table Tividale took another giant stride towards clinching the league title after they toughed out a 1-0 win at Hereford Lads Club.

The hosts have an impressive home record but Tivi took all the points courtesy of another goal from dead ball specialist Darragh Bustin who netted from the penalty spot to record his 17th goal of the season after Dan Smith had been brought down.

Bustin's spot kick enabled Tivi to reach an early season landmark with their 100th league goal of the season and maintain their massive 14 point margin over second placed Wolves Casuals who had claimed a convincing 4-0 win over Dudley Sports.

Scott Powell plundered a couple of goals for the Cassies with Kieran Whittaker and the league's leading marksman Kieron Miller also on target, Miller taking his tally to 28, two ahead of Tivi's Demetri Brown.

More alarming for Sports is the fact they now drop to second from bottom as a result of Wem Town's goalless draw at rock bottom Pegasus Juniors.

Dudley Town were despatched 5-2 by sixth placed Wednesfield on Sporting Khalsa's synthetic pitch.

Ben Perks produced a couple of goals for Wednesfield while Brad Sharman, Chadd Birch and James Quarry also converted with Chris Rabone and Owen Massey responding for the Robins.

Black Country Rangers lost vital ground in their attempt to overhaul Tividale after being held to a 1-1 draw at Shawbury United.

Luke Kettle converted the Gornal Athletic based side's only goal as they fall further off the pace as they now stand 19 points behind Tivi with five games in hand.

Cradley Town recovered from falling behind to claim a 1-1 draw with Bilston Town Community.

Debut Cradley goalkeeper Adam Marusiak did well to keep out Nehemia Zazi in the first half, although he did create panic in his own defence by throwing the ball straight to a Bilston player.

Zazi finally struck when he swivelled to smasghhome from a corner on 52 minutes.

Credit to Cradley who hit back when Adam Garmson crashed home Cameron Milne's cross.

Cradley can continue their good run of form when they travel to Bewdley Town on Saturday.

Table toppers Tividale take on third placed Shrewsbury side Haughmond at Packwood Road in the West Midlands League match of the day.

Tivi will be boosted by the return to training of Tom Hurdman who has recovered after fracturing his arm against AFC Bridgnorth.

But Tivi are forced to leave out recent signing Rion Francis-Mills following cruciate damage.
