ROB Meredith of Dudley and Stourbridge Harriers took on Staverton 10 last weekend.

Despite the strong winds, the DASH athlete finished in 10th place in a time of 58.26.

DASH also sent a team of men to the Midlands Cross Country Championships held at Newbold Comyn, Leamington.

The tough 7.3 mile course saw Dave Nation finish first for the club in 67th position with a time of 45.08. Shaun Osborne finishing in 46.06 ahead of David Ratcliffe (49.19), Darrell Bodin (50.48), Darran Bishop (51.29), Martin Harrigan (53.50), Mark Judge (57.07) and Greg Middleton (1.03.01).

William Kay was the only DASH representative in the under-17 men’s race. He had a storming race over a shorter distance, finishing in eighth place in a time of 22.09.

Last weekend also saw three DASH representatives take part in the West Midlands School Cross Country Championships.

Luke Bailey had a fantastic race finishing in second place, Rhys Lees finished in 10th place and Cian Wood finished in 17th place. The three lads made up part of a four-man team for Dudley, the team finished in first place.
