REIGNING world snooker champion Mark Williams gave an exhibition of his skills when he visited Stourbridge.

The three-time world champ went to Stourbridge Institute and Social Club, Market Street, to play in front of a sell out crowd last month.

As well as showing his potting skills, Williams played 11 frames of snooker against members of the club. He won all frames and compiled breaks of 78, 67, 84, 80, 103 and 129.

The only player to get close was youngster Gavin Sloan, who narrowly lost 56 points to 44, with Gavin compiling a neat break of 32 in the frame.

The event was held in the club's refurbished snooker room, which has previously been opened by snooker legend Steve Davis.
