How they rated: Halesowen 0, Leiston 0

Platt: Positioned well to make a couple of saves in the first half and tipped a rare second half Leiston effort round the post. Largely untroubled in the second half. 6.

Mendez-Jones: Forced off after just five minutes with a groin injury. N/A.

Griffiths: Solid on the left side of defence as his side bagged a deserved cleansheet. 6.

Lawton: Tenacious in midfield where the Yeltz eventually got on top in the second half. Good work-rate all afternoon. 6.5.

Morris: Composed and dominant in the air. Dealt well with any threat Leiston posed. 7.

Charlton: He and Morris adapted well and quickly to the loss of Mendez-Jones and the change of shape it enforced. Like he’d never been away and picked up a deserved cleansheet. 7.

Ekongo: Showed really energy down the right flank. He reverted to a full-back from wing-back after the early defensive change but it didn’t stop him getting forward when the chance arose. Linked well with Gilpin too. 7.

Birch: Really good showing from the midfielder. Great energy and a few moments of quality, especially from deadballs, to create a few chances for his side. Missed one big opening early in the second half that Garnham saved but drove his side forward late on. 7.5.

Craddock: Struggled to get in the game in the first half as the contest became a midfield battle for possession but, like the team as a whole, did better in the second. Caused problems, added physicality and headed one chance narrowly wide. 7.

Molyneux: Did well and linked up well with Craddock. The home side looked much more of a threat with two up top. 6.5.

Kelly: Another that showed a willingness to work hard throughout. Fired one big chance over the bar on the rebound after Birch’s effort was saved. Good delivery from set-pieces. 7.

Subs:

Gilpin: Grew as the game progressed and was his side’s main attacking threat in the second half. A menace with the ball at his feet and his direct running had to be halted by a host of late challenges. 7.5.

Till: Decent cameo from the bench and seems much more at home playing centrally. 6.5.

Nabi: Late change as the Yeltz looked for a final moment of inspiration in injury time. N/A.

Unused subs: Fitzpatrick, Marselia.
