WOLLASTON Lawn Tennis Club (WLTC) has achieved further success in the latest winter campaign.

The club, which has seven of its teams competing in the Hereford and Worcester Winter Leagues, celebrated as their men's A team secured back-to-back promotions.

They held their nerve in a deciding championship tie break in their final match against third-placed David Lloyd Bromsgrove C team.

They will now compete in League 5 next season, having only been promoted to League 6 at the end of last season. The team have already build on this success by winning three of their first four matches in the Staffordshire Summer Leagues and remain unbeaten.

Men's captain Richard Davies said: “Following our A team's promotion in last winter season it's a measure not only of the player's determination to win but also the enthusiasm the club generates for all our team players to do well, we're not finished yet, here's to the next challenge."

The club has seen significant investment in 2018 with four brand new all-weather courts with state-of-the-art floodlighting thanks to financial grant funding by Enovert Community Trust and Ibstock Enovert Trust.

The club offers tennis throughout the year, with the new upgraded courts complimenting the other four modern courts that they already have. They are all specially designed to provide good tennis in all weather conditions and provide a safe surface on which to run, even on cold days. The new floodlighting means that players can also enjoy using the courts on dark winter nights.
