STOURBRIDGE forward Mike Taylor has left the club to join Southern League Central neighbours Bromsgrove Sporting.

The former Stratford hitman had netted four goals in eight appearances this season but has now swapped the War Memorial Ground for the Victoria Ground.

Goals against Sporting and St Ives and a brace against Leiston were the highlight of a short spell at Amblecote.

However, Glassboys boss Ian Long has moved quickly to add to his squad with the capture of Levi Rowley from Rushall Olympic.

He said: "Mikey got a really good financial offer that he couldn't turn down.

"I think he felt like I was putting too much pressure on the forwards even though we were conceding goals and I have been saying that I'm looking to bring in more forwards as well.

"But I will always put pressure on my players and expect them to react to that.

"It's a case of one in, one out because we've managed to get Levi Rowley in. He's a big, powerful lad that can play up front or in the 10 pocket and is someone we have been aware of for a while.

"He's really good technically and we're delighted to get him in.

"I'm always looking for players and it would be good to get another out and out nine in. Saying that, Aaron Lloyd was fantastic on Saturday and if he carries on like that then he'll stay in the side.

"He's not quite fit enough at the moment but if he can perform like that consistently then he could be the answer for us."

Stour beat Coalville in the FA Cup on Saturday to book a third qualifying round tie against Stafford Rangers on October 5.

"It was a really good performance from us and it had a little of bit of everything in there," added Long.

"We showed a bit of grit and determination, a bit of quality and good energy."

The Glassboys played a behind closed doors friendly at Hereford on Tuesday night and now return to league action at Kings Langley this Saturday.

"It's a must win game for us really, especially after the Nuneaton debacle. We need to get on track in the league as soon as possible," said Long.

"We have had them watched and we know it's going to be a difficult game. They had a good win in the cup last weekend as well."
