JORDAN Weaving secured his first podium of the season for Vale team Jones Dorling Racing at Donington Park in the National Superstock Series penultimate round.

He finished third on the Suzuki 1000 Superstock bike but team-mate Ben Godfrey was left with a broken leg in hospital after a crash in qualifying.

Weaving qualified seventh for the race but moved up the field to challenge for second spot.

He said: "This feeling was something I thought I would never feel again.

"There were times I thought I wasn’t going to be competitive again after the two years I went through with my shoulder but this proved to me if you keep fighting and keep believing anything is possible."

For the team's Superstock 600 riders on the Yamahas, Cameron Fraser qualified sixth and Ewan Potter 23rd.

Fraser finished seventh in the race and Potter 16th with a personal best lap time.

The team travel to Brands Hatch for the final round this weekend.
