DUDLEY Kingswinford have moved into second place in Midlands One West with victory over Ludlow.
DK leapfrogged Stoke in the table as a waterlogged pitch saw their game at Sutton Coldfield called off.
Neil Shillingford's men took advantage to secure a 38-17 success at Heathbrook last Saturday.
With no game until a trip to Newbold on November 9, the DK director of rugby was happy to get the job done.
He said: "It was a very pleasing win.
"We spoke about the weather conditions coming into play and both teams kicked a lot for territory.
"They probably edged that game in the first half and we spoke about getting back to basics and changing a few things in the second half.
"We put those things into practise and had a bit of a purple patch at the start of the second half when we ran in three quick tries. Once we were a few scores ahead it was just about managing the game in the right way.
"It's pleasing to go second and it's better to have the points in the bag. We'll have a break now and then look to go again during the tough run to Christmas, which will be a vital time for us."
