BOSS Ian Long spoke of his pride for the way his Stourbridge players took the fight to Eastleigh in search of another FA Cup upset.
The Glassboys had been on course to reach the second round when Aaron Lloyd and Will Grocott twice put them ahead.
However, Eastleigh hit back through Tyrone Barnett and Scott Rendell to deny the Glassboys another famous occasion and send the tie to a replay.
Goalkeeper James Wren also denied Rendell from the penalty spot during a trilling encounter at the War Memorial Ground.
Long said: “I’m immensely proud. It was superb and everyone of them worked so hard today.
“We tired late in the game and went a little bit deep but still had chances to win it late on.
“It could have gone either way late on.
“I felt a lot of decisions went against us today and that made it difficult for us but I’m immensely proud of my players.
“I think we can take a lot of belief from that game.
“We can go there and cause an upset if we look to pass the ball. When we passed the ball today we caused them a lot of problems and we can build on that.”
