FOOTBALL sides across the county face a nervous wait after it was revealed that some leagues at non-league steps five and six are to end immediately.

The Southern League, Isthmain and Northern League have started the process to terminate their leagues.

The FA Leagues Committee are due to meet to decide whether to use the points per game system to decide promotion and relegation spots or to null and void the season.

The Hellenic League has yet to make its position clear.

Westfields are in pole position for promotion into step four after going unbeaten so far in the Hellenic Premier Division.

Meanwhile, Hereford Pegasus, Hereford Lads Club and Wellington all had promotion ambitions in the Division One West.
