MONEY is being raised by Alvechurch chairman Richard Thorndike for injured football player Jack Hallahan.

Hallahan suffered a series or serious facial injuries in Church's 3-0 Southern League Premier Central match with Stourbridge last Saturday.

Two minutes into the second-half, Hallahan and teammate Harry Williams clashed heads, resulting in both players being knocked unconscious for a short period.

Hallahan came out of the collision worse off and took a few minutes to come around. Fortunately, one of the Stourbridge players acted quickly to ensure the Alvechurch player did not swallow his tongue.

Two ambulances attended the scene and both sets of paramedics worked on the players.

Hallahan was taken to hospital and suffered with concussion, damage to three or four front teeth, a fractured eye socket and broken nose.

The player is set to miss a lot of football and will also be unable to work for a while as he recovers so chairman Thorndike has set-up a Go Fund Me page in order to raise money for him whilst he is out of action.

If you wish to donate, follow the link to the Go Fund Me page.

So far, £3,400 has been raised by over 100 different donators.
