FIGHTERS from Blackheath Kimura Shukokai claimed a host of medals at the KSI World Karate Championships.
Paul Richards claimed his sixth individual world crown with victory in the men’s under-90 kilograms Kumite division in Atlantic City.
Audun Daniels picked up silver in the over-90kg kumite and snatched a bronze in the kata section after missing out on a place in the final.
David Maynard stormed his way to a second world championship final in the over-82kg kumite but had to settle for silver, while there were also two bronzes for Peter Jelf. Daniels, Jelf and Baker then capped off an excellent showing when they claimed gold in the team kata.
Sensei Solfrid Daniels was awarded her sixth dan level black belt by the KSI world chief instructors, making her the highest-ranked female black belt in Kimura Shukokai.
