BACK rower Alafoti Fa’osiliva is set to undergo a scan on his knee after being helped off the field in Worcester Warriors’ 23-7 win over Pau at Sixways.

Fa’osiliva scored a superb try on 16 minutes when he gathered Josh Adams’ great offload before cutting inside and powering under the posts.

But the 33-year-old who has recently overcome a calf problem suffered a blow to his leg in the process and was treated for several minutes before being carried off.

Head coach Rory Duncan said: “I have just touched base with the medics and they think there is something (wrong).

"But they are obviously going to have it scanned and we will come back with a more conclusive diagnosis.

“At this moment in time we know that it is his knee and obviously we are hoping that it’s not a long-term injury.”

Fa’osiliva was replaced by flanker Carl Kirwan who came off the bench for his first outing for Warriors in two years.

“The plan was to only play Carl for a limited time considering it was his first game back,” Duncan said.

“But he did extremely well to be able to push through most of the game and I thought did really well for a first runout.”

Fly-half Jamie Shillcock was seen at Sixways with his right foot in a protective boot after sustaining an injury in last week’s 21-6 defeat at Pau.

The 21-year-old went to see a specialist but Duncan was unable to give an update on the stand-off.

“We have got a medical meeting on Monday morning,” Duncan said.

“Once we’ve had that I’ll have an update then and be able to help feed information through.”
