ACADEMY manager Chim Gale has left Worcester Warriors.

Gale, who originally joined the Sixways outfit as an outreach coach before being made assistant academy boss in May 2014, is set to take up "a new opportunity" according to Warriors.

He was appointed academy manager in July 2016 and has since played his part in bringing through a host of top talent, most notably England international Ted Hill.

Director of rugby Alan Solomons said: “Chim has been a first class academy manager as is evident from the large number of outstanding young players who have come through our academy during his time with us.

“We are really sorry to see him go and wish him all the very best in his new venture.”

Gale said: “I’ve enjoyed 10 wonderful years with Worcester Warriors and I can’t thank all the staff, clubs, schools, countless volunteers and stakeholders past and present enough.

“Everyone has been great in supporting and helping me run the academy.”
