INFLUENTIAL forward Marco Mama is likely to be back in contention for Sunday’s clash with Exeter Chiefs at Sixways (3pm).

Mama captained Worcester Warriors to their 24-16 victory over Leicester Tigers on the opening weekend of the Gallagher Premiership season.

But an “innocuous knock” to his head in training forced the 28-year-old to miss Saturday’s trip to Northampton Saints.

Mama watched from the stands at Franklin’s Gardens as Warriors went down 35-16.

And with an eight-day turnaround to prepare for Exeter Solomons is hopeful the back rower will be available for selection.

“I think he will be fit,” Solomons said.

“He got a knock to the head so we will have a look at him but he is going through the concussion protocol.

“It was an innocuous knock in training. It’s just one of those things.”

Mama’s injury coincided with the return of fit-again Sam Lewis and the Welshman took his opportunity at openside flank.

Lewis produced a man-of-the-match display as he assisted for Francois Venter’s late try.

“Sammy had a great game,” Solomons added.

“I thought he played really well.”
