WARRIORS

6 Pennell – was reliable under the high ball and made a couple of darts from deep but rarely got into a threatening position.

5 Humphreys – had to play as an emergency flanker at one point when du Preez saw yellow but his fumble moments after Weir put Warriors in front handed momentum straight back to Dragons.

4 Beck – struggled to get into the game and almost cost his side a try when his kick rebounded into the path of Hewitt who came within a whisker of touching down in the corner.

4 Lance – playing out of position and then captaining the side after Annett went off, the Aussie had a lot on his shoulders but did not deliver. His late knock on summed up his night.

6 Howe – rarely saw the ball but still got himself on the scoresheet as he gathered Weir’s kick before rounding a defender and going over to maintain his impressive try-scoring ratio.

7 WEIR – aside from one missed penalty the fly-half kicked brilliantly from the tee, assisted for Howe’s try and maintained a high work-rate throughout. My man of the match.

4 Hougaard – inexplicably sliced two kicks into touch when under no pressure and knocked on at the base close to the try-line at the end of the first half.

6 Black – helped to hold the scrum together while he was on the field and put in a decent shift before being replaced by Waller who saw red.

5 Annett – lasted just 17 minutes with Warriors trailing 13-0 at that stage when he was forced off following a blow to his shoulder.

6 Schonert – proved a real handful for Harris who was sin-binned following repeated infringements at the scrum as the Warriors prop showed his power.

5 Bresler – a frustrating night for the lock who thumped the ground in exasperation after spilling the ball in the second half as he failed to make much of an impact.

6 Kitchener – was one of Worcester’s better performers as he managed the lineout well, taking some good catches and battled hard in the arm wrestle.

5 Hill – was unable to make amends for his sluggish start as he gifted Dragons a penalty from the kick-off for a late hit and made sloppy handling mistakes.

6 Lewis – was up for the battle as he carried well and his huge tackle on Wainwright just before the break forced the ball to be dislodged and allowed Warriors a chance to score.

4 du Preez – made an uncharacteristic fumble early on and was needlessly involved in a scuffle with Hewitt which resulted in yellow cards for both and came just when Worcester were closing in on a try.
