WARRIORS.

4 Pennell – was twice caught napping by the impressive Rees-Zammit who brushed him aside to set up Harris before beating him for pace to score.

5 Humphreys – got over the ball to secure a penalty which Weir put wide and almost grabbed a try with a kick and chase but left too much space on his wing.

5 Beck – did some good defensive work but aside from a dart into space after collecting Weir’s grubber kick the centre’s hard and straight lines did little to worry Gloucester.

4 Mills – a bad day at the office for the playmaker who miscued a kick in the early stages, lacked spark in attack and crucially left his team exposed when he was sin-binned.

5 Nanai – made a lively start as he made a foray down the left-hand side but that was all he could muster as he saw little of the ball and struggled to impose himself.

4 Weir – got Warriors’ only points of the game but pushed a kick wide, missed several tackles and was devoid of ideas to break down Gloucester.

5 Hougaard – was strong defensively, putting in some key cover tackles, but failed grab the match by the scruff of the neck and his indecisiveness caused Warriors to stutter.

6 Black – coming in for the suspended Waller, the loosehead was rock solid at scrum-time and did a decent job in defence too before being replaced by Bower.

7 MOULDS – taking on the captaincy, the hooker led by example with strong carries, big tackles and did brilliantly to force Morgan to spill the ball over the try-line. My man of the match.

6 Schonert – got the better of his former team-mate Ruskin at one scrum and made some useful yards when in possession.

5 Bresler – made a lineout steal but was penalised on a couple of occasions and was forced off early in the second half with a blow to his arm.

6 Kitchener – operated the lineout effectively as he caught two Gloucester throws, but his robust defensive shift took its toll as he failed to catch Rees-Zammit in the closing 12 minutes.

6 Hill - gave away a silly penalty but made some good defensive reads and a quick-thinking  move off a lineout created one of only a few chances for Warriors.

6 Lewis – put in a strong tackling display in the first half but was guilty of making the odd error in the second as Warriors capitulated.

6 Du Preez – tried to get his side on the front foot with powerful carries, but his efforts were in vain and did not return to the field after a bang to the head.
