The club reported Fatialofa had surgery to alleviate "bruising and swelling on his spinal cord" which left him with "reduced power and sensation in his arms and legs".
Wife Tatiana Fatialofa has been updating via Instagram with positive news over the past few days.
And the latest post appears to be the most encouraging yet.
It read: "Been a week of radical miracles!
"Feeling, movement and better breathing all being restored. Michael is surpassing every medical expectation and with ongoing prayer, positivity and progress we could be out of ICU next week!"
The message finished with the message: "Don't lose focus! Let's get my baby to specialised care."
