FIRST-TEAM coach Alex Gidman says paceman Adam Finch has all the attributes to have a successful career with Worcestershire after making a promising senior debut this week.

The 19-year-old only had time to bowl 5.2 overs divided across two spells on the third day of the rain-ruined Specsavers County Championship Division Two match against Lancashire.

It was the first building block at top-flight level for academy product Finch but he showed enough promise in that short period of action to make a favourable impression.

Gidman said: “I’m not expecting miracles from Adam at all but again he has come in and looked part of it.

“He didn’t look like he was making his debut. He hit the wicket hard, bowled with good pace and looked threatening.

“Something I’m very conscious of at this wonderful cricket club is keeping the tradition of introducing our younger players, keep that moving forward really. Adam is the latest one who has got all the attributes to have a successful career with us.”
