WORCESTERSHIRE all-rounder Wayne Parnell will miss the next Specsavers County Championship clash at Glamorgan from Sunday due to a hamstring tear.
Parnell suffered the low-grade tear injury in the Division Two draw with Sussex at Kidderminster while bowling.
The 29-year-old could not take any further part in the match but the injury is to his left hamstring and not the one where he picked up a similar injury during the Championship match with Lancashire at Emirates Old Trafford.
Parnell is stepping up his rehab work and it is hoped he will be fit for the Championship match against Derbyshire at Kidderminster from Sunday, July 7.
The South African had made a significant impact when fit in the first season of his three-year contract.
He was the County’s leading wicket-taker in the Royal London One-Day Cup.
In the Championship has scored 136 runs at an average of 34.00 and claimed 14 wickets at 22.78.
