Ludlow lights up over the weekend becoming the perfect place for a Christmas celebration. Ludlow Food Festival and Ludlow Castle are responsible for putting on an evening full of festivities and fun in Ludlow to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas countdown. Tickets were sold out immediately as the public came together to enjoy the magic of the glowing town. The historic town of Ludlow is known for its castle which was lit up with colorful lights over the weekend while it hosted this enchanting event.
The castle house gardens were filled to the brim with entertainment. Choirs, bands, and singers brought festive music and with a side of mulled wine, the perfect combination. Stands from The Ludlow Food Festival were available for the public to indulge in. More Christmas cheer was brought by the local dance group ‘Insteps’ with their Christmas dance showcase. This incorporated both junior and senior dancers, bringing together all generations in the community. The Artisan Christmas market also provided the chance to get some early Christmas shopping done or purchase a thoughtful gift for a loved one. The Santa’s Grotto brought hundreds of smiles to hundreds of faces but what really made the celebration complete was the annual switching-on of the lights. Gathering around the large Christmas tree in the central square, you can watch as the decorative lights are turned on by the local council. The lights that zigzag around the historic streets of Ludlow were lit up, bringing a final surge of festive happiness.
Harp Lane Deli, the central location in the hub of the square provided the most eye-catching window display in town. Huge efforts were put in place by interior designer Libby Lord to create such a captivating image. The customers, wrapped up in the early degree temperatures were able to stay warm with never-ending servings of their signature hot chocolate. The deli provides the perfect place for friends to bump into each other and enjoy a glass of bubbles, mulled wine or a freshly made baked treat.
