Dealer gets detention

DRUG dealer Alexander Cottoy tried to throw away nearly £800 of cocaine when bouncers frisked him at Time nightclub.

The 19-year-old, of Hawthorne Road, High Wycombe, appeared at Aylesbury Crown Court on October 23 after he was seen by security dropping 21 wraps of the Class A drug.

Benn McGuire, prosecuting, told the court Cottoy was stopped from entering the nightclub in High Wycombe on June 7.

He said when police searched him they found two mobile phones, one with a message relating to drugs supply.

They also discovered 30 printed business cards which he admitted he had intended to dish out to potential customers.

Mr McGuire added that when police searched Cottoy's home they also found cannabis and a set of electronic scales containing cocaine residue.

Cottoy appeared court after admitting possessing cocaine with intent to supply and possession of cannabis at Wycombe Magistrates on September 24.

Simon Smith, mitigating said Cottoy, who had a previous caution for possessing cannabis, had suffered a "significant fright" after being stopped and arrested.

Judge Daniel Rodwell QC imposed a 12-month detention in a Young Offender Institution for having cocaine with intent to supply and one month concurrent for possessing cannabis.
