The Garibaldi Inn in Stourbridge has gained a smart new look following extensive refurbishment and a new internal layout.

The pub in Cross Street has retained its traditional image but has been brought up to date with a revamped lounge and family/ games room.

The kitchen has also been extended, making it easier for Mark and Emma Weaver, who run the Garibaldi, to prepare and cook fantastic pub grub for their customers.

Emma and Mark are delighted with the refurbishment and commented: "The pub is just how we want it, retaining its traditional, friendly atmosphere, while having a smart and up-to-date appearance".

"The Gari" as it is affectionately known by regulars, offers a warm and friendly family atmosphere with three separate rooms to cater for customers' needs.

There is a beautifully furnished and tastefully decorated lounge, a smart and welcoming family room (with pool table, darts and games machines) and an attractive bar, with big screen TVs in both the bar and the family room.

The Garibaldi has Sky TV and Premier Plus, so customers can watch all of the big matches in ease and comfort.

Virtually all of the food is all home-made from fresh ingredients by Emma, with the exception of the fish which has been purchased frozen simply to keep down costs.

Every day there is a specials board to complement the extensive menu, and plenty of gorgeous desserts cooked up by Emma, who is a self-confessed pudding fan.

Festive fare is now on offer too, with a choice of main meals; turkey with stuffing and pigs in blankets, roast beef and Yorkshire pudding or festive nut roast.

For dessert there is either Christmas pudding with brandy butter, mince pie with brandy butter, apple pie and custard, or ice cream.

The Garibaldi has been listed in the Good Beer Guide, and details of its guest ales, daily specials and entertainment evenings can be found on the pubs web site, www.garibaldiinn.co.uk Thursday night is an open mike and acoustic evening, while Sunday nights are dedicated to Irish music. Quiz nights are held once or twice a month and the pub has teams for pool, darts, cribs and dominoes (new members are always welcome). Children under 18 can stay in the family room until 9pm.
