Have you ever wanted to see a scared-looking Jamie Laing forced to make out with his own hand? No? Well then maybe BBC 3′s latest comedy offering Murder In Successville isn’t for you. But we expect the majority of viewers will a) want to see that, and b) love it.

The whole thing is set in the fictional city of Successville, a Sin City kind of place populated entirely by seedy imaginations of celebrities. To give you a taster: “Mary Berry” runs a strip club called Soggy Bottoms.

Each week an unwitting real-life celebrity “rookie” joins dirty cop DI Sleet (Tom Davis) to help solve a murder under increasingly surreal and stressful circumstances. Here’s Tom and former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt talking about their roles in the show.

You can expect the humour to hover pretty low down in the good-taste charts, revelling in its delightful potty-mouthedness. At one point, for instance, DI Sleet introduces himself thusly: “I eat crime, I drink justice, and I s*** myself.”

If that made you chuckle, there are plenty more filthy gems in the script that’ll be right up your alley.

But some of the best stuff comes from the guest stars. For example, a terrified Jamie Laing telling gangland versions of Niall Horan and Harry Styles: “You know if you put a stone in a piece of bread and feed it to a pigeon it can’t fly.”

We’re pretty sure he didn’t think he’d be saying that on camera when he woke up that morning.
