Age UK Dudley to hold informative session

AGE UK Dudley will be on hand to give out help and advice to the borough’s over 50s at a event at Merry Hill later this week.

Representatives will be outside Marks and Spencer from 9am until 4pm on Thursday, providing free beauty treatments and sessions in exercise, zumba, tai chi, as well as giving out free Winter Warmth goodie bags.

Staff will also be giving advice on using technology, benefit entitlements and money matters, as well as showcasing the variety of activities and services offered by the charity, including Fix-A-Home, Good Neighbour, Greenagers, Leap Over 50, Eat Well and Shopmobility.

Why is everything aimed at the over 50's
held during the day?

Are all the over 50's out of work ?

or are the working over 50's exempt
surely there would be a better uptake on the sessions if they could be held early evenings.

Thank you for your comment and many activities do run in the day for over 50s. We do offer activities on evenings and weekends but you are correct there are not as many. We have found reluctance from people to travel and attend activities in the evenings due to dark nights. When activities have been arranged in the evening numbers unfortunately have been very low. By chance we are currently shaping a new project and your comment will be beneficial to this. Hopefully we will be able to run another event at Westfield and we will aim to hold our event into the evening to reach a wider audience. Please keep an eye out for it.
