YOUNGSTERS at Clent Parochial Primary School have celebrated the launch of their very own magazine.

Children at the school in Bromsgrove Road have been busy designing and creating their own publication for peers, parents, staff and members of the community.

The project was launched to help children in years three, four, five and six focus on improving the quality of their writing skills.

Deputy headteacher Vicky Lloyd said: “They worked alongside a journalist from a local magazine over a term and they took on the role of different types of journalists such as food and travel writers.

“Year three and four produced a magazine for a child audience and year five and six produced a magazine for a more adult audience.

“We are very proud of what the children managed to achieve and their writing was engaging and of a high quality.”

And she said the magazine proved so popular that from September it be launched as a regular school read which all pupils will be able to contribute to.
