BLOCKBUSTER in Wollaston will close on Sunday (December 1), with the loss of five jobs.

Administrators have failed to find a buyer for the movie and video game rental chain, resulting in a further 30 stores closing across the UK, including the Wollaston branch on Bridgnorth Road.

It follows the closure of 72 stores earlier this month.

Store manager, Maxine Clarke, said: "We'd like to thank all of the customers we have had over the last 10 years and our regulars. We'd like to wish everyone well and we are very sad that Blockbuster will close."

Joint Administrators, Simon Thomas and Nick O’Reilly, of Moorfields Corporate Recovery, added: "We are making every effort to support customers and to date, have issued over 30,000 refunds for goods and services not received. We are enormously grateful for their continued loyalty.”
