STOURBRIDGE Historical Society is hosting a talk about National Service tonight (Thursday March 20).
Ed Shore will be giving the talk which takes place in the Wollaston Room at Stourbridge Town Hall from 7.30pm.
The popular speaker will be describing his own experiences of National Service, a scheme which saw all healthy men aged 17 to 21 called up to serve in the armed forces for 18 months between 1949 and 1960.
David Hickman, from Stourbridge Historical Society, said: “Ed has spoken to many groups locally and is well known for the humour that he brings to his talks.”
