Mary Stevens Hospice receives £4,638 for privacy screens
8:00am Wednesday 4th June 2014 in News
MARY Stevens Hospice has been given £4,638 to purchase new privacy screens for its inpatient unit.
The Oldswinford hospice provides palliative care, symptom control and therapy for people with life-limiting illnesses and required the new equipment to maintain the privacy and dignity of patients.
Cash came from the Hospital Saturday Fund, which supports medical charities, hospices and hospitals across the UK, following a successful funding bid.
John Randel, fund trustee, visited the hospice to present the cheque to the hospice's chief executive officer, Stevan Jackson, recently and was shown what enhancements are currently being made to the impatient unit, which are due to be completed in the next few months.
Mr Jackson said, “The Mary Stevens Hospice is extremely delighted to receive this generous donation that will help significantly in improving patient privacy and preserving dignity, two fundamentals of hospice care.”
