A TEACHER who has spent decades educating youngsters in Kingswinford will retire this summer.

Mike Davies will bring and end to his 33 year tenure and say a fond farewell to The Kingswinford School, where he is the director of ICT.

He first joined the Water Street school in 1982, teaching physics and science but has held his current position for nearly 20 years.

The father-of-two said: “It has been a superb school to teach in and I have enjoyed every minute.

"I will really miss the school but the time has come to spend more time with my family and doing all the other things I have always wanted to do.”

Mr Davies plans to spend his retirement travelling, restoring old cars, sailing and walking his dog.

Headteacher, Bronwyn Hedley, added: “Mr Davies is a talented teacher and outstanding leader of ICT developments here at the school.

"We will miss his expertise greatly and his sense of humour, commitment and loyalty. He is indeed a legend here and a very inspirational teacher."
