STOURBRIDGE singers will be donning the famous nun’s habit as they put on their production of the popular musical Sister Act.

Based on the film of the same name, Stourbridge Operatic Society’s upcoming show aims to raise the roof off Stourbridge Town Hall between Monday, October 19 and Saturday, October 24.

The show tells the hilarious story of Deloris Van Cartier, a wannabe diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime and the cops hide her in the last place anyone would think to look—a convent!

Under the suspicious watch of mother superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own.

The original Sister Act film, starring Whoopi Goldberg, was received with critical acclaim, gaining more than $200 million at the box office, spawning a second film and inspiring the musical adaptation.

Tickets for the show, which feature evening performances at 7.15pm and a Saturday Matinee at 2.15pm, start from £12.50 and can be booked from the ticket hotline on 07504 301767.
