STOURBRIDGE salsa gran Paddy Jones may have missed out on winning the top prize in Germany’s version of Britain’s Got Talent but she’s got a busy 2016 brewing.

The Britain’s Got Talent finalist, whose salsa shimmying with 41-year-old Spanish dance partner Nicko Espinosa has earned her international recognition, made it to the grand final of Das Supertalent in December after wowing the judges at the preliminary auditions.

The 81-year-old great-grandmother and her unlikely dance partner, who earned themselves a guaranteed place in BGT final in 2014 when judge Amanda Holden pressed her golden buzzer, were similarly catapulted through to the live final of Germany’s Das Supertalent after judge Inka Bause pressed the golden buzzer in a case of déjà vu.

The pair, who began dancing together around a decade ago when widowed Paddy took up salsa classes at Nicko’s academy, missed out on the top prize but there are no signs of interest in their unusual act waning.

Still very much in demand - the dancing duo, who won the Spanish TV talent search Tú Sí Que Vales in 2009, have already been booked for a number of events and appearances in 2016 including a VIP slot at charity Wessex Heartbeat’s Dancing With Choirs event at Portsmouth Guildhall next month.

They’ll also be putting on their dancing shoes for a very special performance at the Italian wedding of Paddy’s son Phil this summer.

Gutsy great-gran Paddy, who used to run Paddy's Fabrics in Stourbridge before retiring to Gandia near Valencia in Spain, said she's still enjoying the jet-setting and being twirled around the dancefloor and she added: “We’re still dashing around from pillar to post.

"Sometimes you think it’s going to be quiet and then people ring up two days before we have to go and do something but it's keeping me going; I can't grumble. I think it's going to be a busy 2016."
