RESIDENTS at an Oldswinford care home recently received a visit from the borough’s first citizen who was in town to celebrate ‘Dignity in Care Day’.
Councillor Steve Waltho, Mayor of Dudley, paid a visit to Oriel Care Home to when he took part in the centre’s ‘Digni-Tea’ event.
As part of the Hagley Road homes festivities, residents and guests were able to enjoy an afternoon tea which was accompanied by a pianist who played a number of tunes during the event.
Rebecca Vellenderm, activities co-ordinator, said: “We are in our thirtieth year of care here at Oriel and are very keen for people to see the kind of activities that take place.
“We held our own Digni-Tea event in the home for Dignity in Care Day where we were accompanied by Jean-Pierre Ellis, our managing director, the Dudley Mayor and Mayoress, Cllr Steve and Jayne Waltho, who enjoyed a delightful afternoon tea and beautiful piano playing.
“Overall the afternoon was a huge success and the residents thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”
