A 25-YEAR-OLD Wordsley man has denied killing a pensioner by driving dangerously.

Ryan Freeth, of Marshall Crescent, pleaded not guilty to causing the death of 66-year-old pedestrian Leslie Marks, of Brook Street, Wordsley, in Amblecote High Street on November 29 last year.

Judge Mark Eades at Wolverhampton Crown Court remanded Freeth on unconditional bail until March 20 2017 when his trial is due to start.

The prosecution alleges Freeth, who was behind the wheel of a red Vauxhall Corsa, was driving at an excessive speed when he hit Mr Marks who had been crossing the road.

The trial is expected to last for three days.
