PREMIERE league football clubs have joined in efforts to help trace missing Stourbridge man Matthew Gill.

West Bromwich Albion FC screened an image of Mr Gill, aged 43, a keen supporter of the club, on its big screen at The Hawthorns last Saturday and put out an appeal for information over the tannoy; while Wolves FC is set to follow suit this Friday.

Aston Villa FC has also been contacted about issuing an appeal and Mr Gill's picture is set to be shown at Birmingham City's match on Wednesday.

Mr Gill, a manager at B&Q in Kidderminster, has been missing for nearly four weeks.

He was last seen at 9am on Friday October 6 by his partner Annette Woodhouse as she left for work.

She said there were no signs whatsoever that he would fail to arrive home later that day and his disappearance has been described as a mystery.

Mr Gill, who left home without his wallet or bank cards, is described as white, five feet ten inches tall, of medium build and he had short cropped hair when he was last seen; and he is thought to have been wearing a blue Superdry T-shirt.

His mobile phone has been switched off since he disappeared but on October 19 it was found to have been switched on for several hours in the Stourton area, although no calls were made or received.

Police are now appealing to anyone that might be in possession of the device, a black Samsung Galaxy S4 mini with a distinctive Rocky Balboa cover, to contact the Locate team immediately on 01902 649150 or the charity Missing People on 116 000.

Meanwhile - friends and family have continued to search woodland, canals and riverside areas near where Mr Gill's car was found - at Petzone off the A449 at Prestwood.
