BOROUGH leisure centres have a range of activities on offer to keep boredom at bay throughout the Easter holidays.

The Dudley Council owned facilities will be hosting a jam packed fortnight of fun from March 30 to April 15.

Dudley Leisure Centre will host 'junior activezone' on April 3, 5, 10 and 12 for youngsters aged between eight and 12.

Activities will run from 9am to 4pm including multi skills, crafts, team games and swimming.

It costs £20 per day per child and a parental consent form must be completed prior to participation.

An intensive swimming course will also run at the centre for children aged five and above from April 9 to 13. Spaces are available at 9am and cost £26.50 per child.

At Halesowen Leisure Centre, an inflatable aqua run session for children aged eight and above will take place on April 3, 5, 10 and 12 from 1.15pm to 3pm.

Children must be a minimum of 1.2 metres tall and are required to take a swimming test.

There are also fun float sessions every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday during the holidays, which will run from 1.15pm to 3pm in the main pool and 1.30pm to 3pm in the learner pool. Both fun sessions cost £4.30 for adults and £2.80 for under 16s.

Juniors can also take advantage of the £7 for seven days offer at the centre on both weeks and receive unlimited access between 9am and 5pm.

Activities include use of the swimming pools, fun aqua run and float sessions, plus use of the squash courts and table tennis.

Swimming pools at both the Dudley and Halesowen centres will be open throughout the school holidays but people are asked to check opening times and session details before arrival.

Councillor Ian Kettle, cabinet member responsible for leisure centres, said: “I am pleased to see such a wonderful variety of activities on offer at Dudley and Halesowen leisure centres this Easter and I am confident these sessions will be popular with children and parents alike.”

Pre-booking at reception is recommended for many of the school holiday activities.
