A FIRE the size of a football pitch on heathland in Kinver has kept firefighters working for several hours.

Five crews were called to the blaze on Comber Road which started at 2.21pm today (Thursday) and was still going three hours later.

Crews from Wombourne, Stourbridge, Brierley Hill, Haden Cross and Dudley are attending the fire which includes grass turf and small trees.

Firefighters have split the fire, which has spread across an area measuring 120mx50m, into three sectors to tackle it, using two main jets and one hose.

Members of the public are being instructed to avoid the area.
