West Hagley Football Club Chairman and Head of Football Clive Rushton has netted a personal double after walking away with a brace of top coaching awards.

Rushton has picked up the Worcestershire County FA 'Coach of the Year', as well as West Midlands Region Charter Standard Clubs 'Coach of the Year.' Andy Norman,Regional Development Manager at the Worcestershire FA said: "Clive epitomizes what we are looking for in terms of the time he devotes to his coaching, as well as his ability to deliver sessions aimed at improving the players individual abilities, together with the team as a unit. As a UEFA licence coach as well as an FA tutor we've seen first-hand how he works within our School of Excellence and his motivation of players and how he gets his message across is first class."

In addition to helping some of West Hagley's 24 teams Clive runs a coaching company Focus Football, working in many clubs and schools.

Clive said: "Within West Hagley we have a club philosophy of improving players technically rather than just the winning of trophies which is the way it should be.

"We currently have over fifty qualified coaches delivering sessions to boys aged between five and eighteen, and I enjoy working both within the club as well as in the schools.

"The Worcs FA School of Excellence is linked to West Bromwich Albion, has are we at West Hagley and this means we get two opportunities for our better players to progress and to receive a higher standard of coaching."
