WEATHER forecasters have issued a thunderstorms warning for this afternoon (Monday May 16).
The Met Office has said storms are likely to develop over the West Midlands before moving northwards and they are likely to bring heavy rain in places, with 20mm of rain possible in one to two hours, plus a risk of hail.
In the Stourbridge area thunderstorms are predicted at around 5pm.
Motorists are warned there’s a chance driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water and hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus.
Delays to train services are possible and some short term loss of power and other services is likely.
Forecasters say there’s also chance of flooding to homes and businesses and damage to a few buildings or structures from lightning strikes.
