Brierley Hill SCA eased four points clear at the top of the Premier Division, with a comprehensive 5-0 victory over Harts Hill School.

Eliott Bastable with an 81 break, David Oakes 52, Maria Catalano, Mark Ganderton and Darren Oakes were all on target, and there are only two games left to be played.

Baggeridge Social A did their best but could only beat Stourbridge A 3-2. Adam Davies, Richard Evans, on the black against Paul Bates, and Ryan Evans in the decider won for them but Tom Johnson beat Reanne Evans on the final ball and Ashley Aston had a 67 break to take the institutes' frames.

Bearward Cons beat Pockets 4-1 to move into joint third place, thanks to Jason Hickman, Joe Anderson, Callum Downing and Mick Cash, although Dave Green lost when 15- year-old Andrew Smith made a 50 break for Pockets.

Hot Shots share third spot.

Luke Higginbotham, Wayne Robbins and Brett Hall, all in top form at present, staged a recovery against Norton Social for whom Rob Pitt and Neil Rollinson had established a 2-0 lead.

Amblecote Institute A's Richard Brookes made a 38 break and knocked in a difficult blue to hand Kinver A's Andrew Highfield- just his third defeat of the season-but a jet-lagged Mick Faulkner took the decider for Kinver.

Kinvers' B team need only five more frames to secure The First Division Championship after beating Amblecote Institute 5-0. They opened up an eight-point lead although Mick Hartshorne and Arnold Tromans were taken to the final black by Mick Cook and Steve Ball respectively.

Kingswinford Cons A beat Wombourne 4-1, although there was little to spare in three of their frames, and they hold a four-point advantage over Amblecote RBL A, who recovered to win 3-2 at Stourbridge Institute B. Nick Aston and Harry Jones had given the Institute a great start, but Rob Boylin, James Oakes with a 64 break and Carl Williams turned it around to give Amblecote a chance if Kingswinford slip.

Netherton Liberals gave one of their best displays to take all five frames at Norton Social B - Darren Corbett, Steve Norton, Andy Barnett, Nigel Davenport and Carl Webb all in good form.

Amblecote Institute C's lead at the top of the Second Division, was trimmed to a single point when they lost 3-2 at Wombourne B. Roy Grainger and Mitch Skidmore won but Mick Dando, Paul Churchmen and Keith Rollinson in the decider, won the match for the home team.

Stourbridge Institute C edged a hard-fought 3-2 win against Pensnett Libs A, with Jon Saunders, Phil Fitzpatrick and Paul Garbett taking the honours, although Keith Wellbourne and John Jennings did well to take a frame each for the Liberal Club.

Kingswinford Cons B joined Stourbridge in second place when they won 4-1 at Amblecote Institute F.

Rob and Alan Jeffries, Mark Daniels and David Hickinbottom all won, with Asa Humpuries taking a frame for the Institute.

Amblecote Institute D bounced back to form with a 4-1 success at home to Dibdale B, but, trailing by four points, need the top three to slip up.

Last Friday, Stourbridge won their Inter-town semi-final by defeating Sedgley 4-2 on the neutral tables of Bilston Golden Cue.

Stourbridge recovered from deficits in the first two frames when Tom Johnson laid a good snooker and took full advantage to beat Dan Ward, the 2004 European Champion, while Ashley Aston had to dig deep to clear the last three reds in a 38 break to defeat Simon Hickman.

Mick Faulkner made a good start against Andrew Highfield, and held that advantage throughout a high quality frame to extend Stourbridges' lead to 3-0, but Richard Evans beat Jason Hickman and ladies world champion Reanne Evans played well to beat Mick Cash to reduce arrears to 3-2.

In his first season of representative snooker, however, Dave Green played with determination he had shown in the two earlier rounds to just get better of a tight encounter with Adam Davies. The final frame, due to be between Rob Pitt and Ryan Evans wasn't played.

By beating Sedgley, who won the tournament from 2003 to 2006, Stourbridge qualified to play Chase Rugeley who overwhelmed Coseley 7-0.

Nathan Shaw, Kevin Matthews, Steve Stuart, David Turner, Anthony Harris and Ryan and Dwight Wood did well to win the tie so comprehensively.

The final will take place at Wednesfield Conservative Club on Monday, 28th April.
