CHAIRMAN Fred Willetts welcomed speaker Donald Everitt and members to the meeting.

The speaker talked about the lilies and summer bulbs and the various hardy plants we can have blooming during the summer months.

For the July meeting, we will hold a gardening quiz and the usual vegetables and wine.

Val Highway volunteered to be our domestic judge at the monthly meetings.

The trading shed will be closed during August and re-open on September 7th.

We are holding a plant sale on June 1st at the allotment site in South Road.

All proceeds are to go to the president's chosen charity, the Air Ambulance.

The monthly competition winners are: 1 spring cabbage, J Gardener 3 sticks of rhubarb, J McPhee Spring onions, E Southall Spring pot plant, A Greathead Bunch of spring flowers, W McPhee Chocolate sponge, Una Langley Jill Baker gave details of our summer outing to the Welsh Botanical Gardens. Our next meeting is on June 19th and the speaker will Roger Umpelby, who will give tips on the cultivation of fruit and answer questions as he goes along.
