COUNCIL bosses have approved plans to invest £150,000 in boosting CCTV coverage to crackdown on fly-tippers.
The plans were approved by full council on Monday March 7 as part of a raft of investments.
The proposals include spending £60,000 over three years on 12 deployable cameras to target hotspot areas for fly-tipping and other anti-social behaviour.
There are also plans to bring 23 traffic cameras onto the network to make them multi-purpose, which will see a further £90,000 invested over the same period.
Councillor Laura Taylor-Childs, Dudley Council's cabinet member for housing and communities, said: "We have consistently invested in our CCTV network over the past few years which is helping us to make the borough safer.
"Not only that is helps us to catch and prosecute people we see fly-tipping, causing graffiti and other anti-social behaviour. That is money well spent and helps send a clear message that we are taking on the criminals and we will win."
