MARY Stevens Hospice cricketers are hoping for a big total when they take on a team from Enville.

Players representing the Hagley Road hospice will be taking to the field at the historic club at their home ground near Kinver.

The charity game, on Sunday May 28, will be part of a family fun day of events aimed at raising as much cash as possible for the hospice.

The charity is in partnership with Enville with their logo featuring on the club's playing shirt.

Amanda Bowen, head of fundraising and lottery for the hospice, said: "'We are delighted to have been chosen as a charity partner with Enville Cricket Club and look forward to supporting our community over the next three years as part of this friendship, together.

"Sharing our values of care, kindness and compassion, we were delighted to be asked to put together a hospice team to play in our first charity event with Enville, an "Enville v Hospice" cricket match!

"We have assembled our team and are ready to play in support of those who need our vital care and in memory of those we have supported in the past.

"We are not sure how we will do, but we know that as the day will raise funds for our cause and that it will benefit patients and families receiving care and at the hospice, now and in the future.

"We would like to thank Enville Cricket club for this fabulous opportunity and wish them a success and prosperous summer season."

The funday at Enville CC will get underway at the cricket ground on Hall Drive, Enville, with a ladies' cricket event starting at 9.30am.

Hot food and drinks will be available as well as refreshments from the licensed bar.
