STAFF and students at Rufford Primary School in Stourbridge were delighted to have a visit from the Mayor of Dudley to mark the opening of their new early years outdoor area.

Councillor Andrea Goddard, the borough’s first citizen, ‘cut the ribbon’ on Thursday (October 12) as she unveiled the new facility which has been designed to promote active learning for children aged two to five.

Headteacher Erica Tilley said of the facility: "We are delighted to introduce this exciting addition to our school.

“Our Early Years Outdoor Area is not just a playground; it's a space for discovery, creativity, and fun.

“We look forward to witnessing the joy and growth it brings to our young learners."

The Mayor of Dudley praised staff at the school for their “dedication to their pupils and she added: "The new play area will have such a huge impact on the start of the children's journey at Rufford.”
