POLICE have confirmed Dudley’s Parkrun event was cancelled after the discovery of a body in woodland.
The event, which is held at The Dell Stadium in Pensnett on Saturday mornings, was cancelled at short notice this morning due to a police incident, the organisers said.
West Midlands Police has since confirmed this related to the sad discovery of a body of a man in woodland in Brockmoor – as officers scoured the area for a missing person.
A police spokesperson said: “Officers searching for missing 52-year-old Andrew have sadly found the body of a man in woodland in Brockmoor.
“Formal identification is yet to take place but Andrew’s family have been informed.
“We are not treating the death as suspicious and our sympathies are with his family and friends.”
