MEMBERS of the public enjoyed a ‘Jingle the Wall Heath Way’ when the village played host to a festive fun event.

The Saleem Foundation, in partnership with the Wall Heath Kuppa club and Church of Ascension Primary School HAS, organised the Santa trail event on Saturday December 16.

The event, which started and ended at the Wall Heath Tavern, proved a big hit with more than 400 children taking part.

Shaz Saleem, leader of One Community, said: “In total over a thousand people attended the whole event which included rides, a Christmas market, concert and so much fun.

“It was truly a community event that included the Wall Heath Community Centre, Wall Heath Scouts, Kingswinford and Wall Heath Litter Pick Group, Wall Heath Tennis Club, Wall Heath in Bloom and all Wall Heath businesses.”

There was also a Jingle the Wall Heath Way concert featuring performers from local schools and The Lavender Girls.

The event raised money to support local community with £1,480 donated to the Church of the Ascension Primary School in Wall Heath, £100 each given to Wall Heath Scouts and community centre, and £350 to The Saleem Foundation Youth Club which runs every Friday from 6pm to 8pm at The Source in Barnett Lane, Kingswinford. Shaz said: “I'm honestly overwhelmed with the incredible support; the village was buzzing, everyone was smiling, its memories like these that are priceless and will live forever. I would like to say a huge thank you to my amazing, community driven team.”

Cassie Gray, community ambassador, added: “It truly was a magical event.”

The Saleem Foundation now plans to host the event annually with next set to take place on December 14, 2024.
