KIND-HEARTED staff at Wordsley Hall Care Home will be giving away snacks and refreshments to health and emergency services workers this Christmas to help spread a little festive cheer for those who have to work.

Staff at the care home in Mill Street have raised money and will be giving away turkey cobs, crisps, sweets, chocolates and hot and cold drinks to police, paramedics and fire service personnel as well as district nurses and community carers working out in the community on Christmas Day (Monday December 25).

Jackie Taylor, manager at the home, said people are welcome to pop in between 11am and 3pm on Christmas Day to grab a snack and a drink.

Thomas Malpass, deputy manager, added: “Rather than Christmas cards we raised money from the staff. Sometimes we donate to people but this year we’re giving back to the health services as they don’t get enough appreciation.”
